Over the last decade, we made small tweaks each year to turn our events—regardless of their length—into star-studded affairs. They not only capture attention, but they make a lasting impression which turns into a welcoming experience and the eventual, “YES, I WANT TO JOIN YOUR PROGRAM! COUNT ME IN!” |
10:15 - 11:15 | Artificial Intelligence 101: From Science Fiction to Core Competency - Art Munin, Liaison International Over the past year, higher education digital feeds have been flooded with articles and thought pieces about artificial intelligence (AI). AI has long been present in our lives; higher education has simply been catching up on the tidal wave. Yet, many cannot accurately describe what AI is, is not, the pertinent ethical issues, and the various use cases. This session will provide participants with this baseline of information and tactical experience on AI’s use in graduate student recruitment and retention. The session ends with tangible items to address when evaluating AI tools. |

1 - 2 | The Next Phase of Alumni Engagement for Recruitment & Rankings - Sarah Wanger, Ed.D., Kelley Direct Online MBA, IU Bloomington This session, that Sarah presented at NAGAP’s 2024 Annual Summit in April, will present alumni engagement as tied to overall strategic goals for enrollment and recruitment. Further, the session will overview data collected on the success (or challenges) of alumni engagement across a variety of tactics and channels. The presentation will overview the design and creation of an alumni advisory council and alumni recruitment toolkit, implementation of current student/alumni networking events, and how to think strategically about communications to alumni, based on your overall goals for their engagement. |
