Some departments and schools offer financial support to graduate students, including tuition remission, fellowships without service requirements, or Student Academic Appointments (SAAs). SAAs, such as research, teaching, or graduate assistantships, are managed by individual programs—not the Graduate School—and typically provide a stipend, health and dental insurance, and tuition waivers. Additional SAA or hourly opportunities may be found through GradGrants, Handshake, or student affairs. Contact your graduate program for specific details on assistantships and other funding.
IU Indianapolis graduate students can also access aid through the IU Indianapolis Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships. For graduate and professional student financial aid advice, email iuindy.finaid@iu.edu or call 317-274-4162.
