IU Degree, Transcript, and Diploma/Certificate Information
Degree Date
IU degrees can be awarded monthly. The degree date is the last day of the month, except for August, December and May. December 2022 degree date is December 18th. Visit the academic calendar on the Office of the Registrar’s website.
How to Order the Finalized Transcript
Once your degree is posted, it will immediately appear on your transcript. To order transcripts, visit the Office of the Registrar’s website.
How to Receive the Diploma
Diplomas are mailed to the "diploma" address that is listed in your SIS Student Center. Make sure this information is entered—before the end of the semester—with the address where you want your diploma sent. The printed diploma will be mailed directly to you, at that address, within 6–8 weeks after the end of the semester. When it’s shipped, you’ll get an email alert so make sure you’re continuing to monitor your IU email account after graduation.

IU graduate certificates are awarded monthly. Please note if you are completing a master's degree and certificate, you must be enrolled in both programs and the certificate must be awarded before or at the same time as the master's degree.
