Biomedical Science PhD students enter through an umbrella program (IBMG) where they have the first year to select a research laboratory & degree program [students participate in 3 lab rotations to facilitate their decision]. This three-semester non-thesis-based Masters program will include a 10-week internship in the pharmaceutical/chemical industry or an academic sector that will rapidly expose the student to toxicology-based careers. This program will also allow the student to utilize knowledge gained in their academics and incorporate them in a professional work environment while gaining relevant experiences and professional connections. Furthermore, for those basic science students who are unsure whether to pursue a PhD in Toxicology or even a professional degree, this track will help facilitate their decision, while still pursuing a graduate degree that is sought after by industry, government, and NGOs.

MICI-AHEC moved to University of Indianapolis in September 2014. Through the years we have formed strategic partnership within the university that has enhanced our mission and improves our program implementation. The Metropolitan Indianapolis Central Indiana Area Health Education Center (AHEC) plays an important role in providing health care professionals prepared to meet the needs of Marion and the surrounding counties. |
