2020 Sherry Queener Graduate Student Excellence Award

Lauren Ryan
School of Health and Human Sciences, Kinesiology
"Lauren exemplifies the mission and goals of the School of Health & Human Sciences to be educational innovators and leaders in developing future professionals in the fields of health, wellness, sport, and tourism. We are confident that Lauren will graduate with honors and will continue performing with excellence in the future." – One of Lauren’s nominators

Kirstin VanderWall
School of Science, Biology
“After seven semesters at IUPUI, Kirstin has earned a nearly perfect GPA to date and has impressed all of the faculty she has had the opportunity to interact with, both in the classroom and out. Many faculty across campus have identified Kirstin as a strong asset to my lab as well as the campus, not only because of her research accomplishments but also because of her personality and intelligence." – One of Kirstin’s nominators
2020 Chancellor's Scholar

Devin Banks
Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology
"The work that Devin has done thus far in her graduate training has established a solid foundation in the execution of scientifically sound empirical research, particularly in the area of minority health research. I have no doubt that she will become a leading expert in this field of study. Yet even beyond her research aptitude, Devin is an intrinsically motivated, intelligent, and well-rounded person and professional. She has earned nothing but high marks in every area has been trained in (i.e., course work, clinical work, teaching, and research) during her time as my student at IUPUI." – One of Devin’s nominators

Tyler Phillips
M.S. in Computer Information Science
"Tyler is a fast learner and has a strong self-learning ability. He can very quickly learn new techniques and tools whenever needed during his research and is fluent at installing, configuring, and integrating various tools/platforms. He has mastered scientific research methodology and is a critical-thinker with a high level of creativity. He possesses great leadership skills, currently leading a team of one other graduate student and one undergraduate student doing research on hierarchical key management; this team led by Tyler has already finished one paper." – One of Tyler’s nominators
